Work, Play, Read, Eat, Drink And Be Merry At The Hedgehog Cafe Chandigarh

Ideal for a little more than just coffee, food, and conversation, whether you want to sit back and work, grab a bite, read a book or just want to chill, The Hedgehog Cafe is the new haven for all Chandigarhians. And can you believe it has been eight months!!! Yes, soon The Hedgehog Cafe will be celebrating their anniversary. A cafe that was opened on the 29^th October 2017 has become one the most loved cafes of Chandigarh. 

A colorful, dynamic space with casual seating and books stacked up against the wall all competing for attention, this cafe is really where work and play meet. Here, you can laugh at goofy jokes of stand up artists, hear authors read out from their books, tap your feet and sing along with the live bands, recite poetries, listen to stories, gaze at the artwork and also play with puppies. It’s like everyone’s collective dreams come true!

The Foodie: The serious foodie is not interested in settling down into a comfortable sofa. The serious foodie needs to have the feel of a dining table, around which, he can sit along with his friends and family and concentrate on the food. He wants the chair to be at a height that does not force him to bend over too much when sipping in some hot soup or worry about sandwich crumbs falling all over his trousers. Once he is satiated, he wants to lean back on the chair and look around him with the satisfaction of Alexander the great reveling in his conquests. He is our Obelix.

The Social Butterfly: If she was in Riverdale, she would be their Veronica. This extrovert social butterfly wants to not only talk, laugh and have fun with her friends but also wants to keep an eye out on the road outside. She wants the best of both worlds and does not want to miss a thing. If the friends she is with are not as interesting as she thought they were, she could always entertain herself with what’s going on, outside.

The Family Person: He wants to spend his time leisurely, sprawling on a soft sofa with his friends and family in a tight circle around him. He wants to be able to see the faces of his friends while they talk to him and wants his friends to pay attention to him when he speaks. If she is very tired after a long day at work, she wants to be able to put up her feet and let her hair loose, sink into the couch, at ease that she is in her own world among her people.

The Bibliophile: This serious Bibliophile does not want to be disturbed by anyone while he reads and lives his book. He wants the world behind him and the chatter to bounce off from his back. He wants to be surrounded by the quiet solitude of books and does not want anything, which can possibly distract him. He needs a seating that keeps his back straight, without him slouching over and being slowed down. Is it just a coincidence that while we have Hermione, Matilda, Liesel Meminger and Jo, we don’t have many male book characters who are book lovers? Strange, isn’t it?

The Workaholic: He needs uninterrupted power for his laptop, Wi-Fi for his mails and coffee running in his vein, exactly in the same order. He, like the Bibliophile, just wants enough music to be wafting in the air to keep him calm but not any noise, which can distract him while he juggles with his numbers. The only sound that keeps him going is the tapping of his keyboard.

The Couple: They want to spend time with each other in privacy while they share their latest secrets and gossips without the fear of any prying ears and eyes. The only face they want to see is that of the other while they plan their next escapade. Eleanor and Park?

The Littlest Ones: These are our favorites and they accompany their parents and have an attention span of probably 5 minutes. They need a corner where they can be left alone with books and toys, which won’t hurt them but will keep their busy minds and nimble fingers occupied all the time. They should be able to sit at a safe distance from their parents so that the Mom and Dad can enjoy some uninterrupted dining time while keeping an eye on their precious ones as well.
