Daan Utsav Celebrations At DLF City Centre, Chandigarh
At the time when everybody is celebrating different festivals, the Indian School of Business (ISB) and DLF City Centre jointly organized Daan Utsav Celebrations in DLF City Centre.
Daan Utsav – an 11-year-old festival of giving which aims to turn philanthropy into a mass movement, has been off to an enthusiastic start in the Tricity.
It was in this spirit that Seva mela was sponsored at DLF City center Mall, IT Park, Chandigarh. Mall supported 10 NGOs which were: Prasanchetas Foundation; Chandigarh Spinal Rehab; Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Sewa Society ( Regd), Ambala City; Ashi- Haryana; Sohana Hospital, Ashray, Maskhra Theatre; RCED, Body-mind, and soul studio and Veddhama Foundation were the participants.
ASHI Haryana young girls performed on Maa Durga Avtar, Chandigarh Spinal Rehab presented their in house band called the Wheel Chair Music band.
Also laughter therapy session by Dr. Saluja from Spinal Rehab. Prasanchetas foundation performed a nukkad natak on women empowerment followed by Jyoti Kaundinya's body mind & soul meditation including Zumba, yoga dance, mind exercises. NGOs provided free health checkups, sanitary pads, Ayurveda consultancy. Projects like raddi se pragati, empowering the underprivileged by selling their handmade products and much more.
On her concept of giving, Shruti Chatwal, Manager, Student Engagement and Applied Learning (SEAL) at Indian School of Business, Mohali (ISB), says, “Giving without expectations is the key and different people across sectors like DLF Mall have been supportive in making this festival truly a pyaar ka ustav.
All such initiatives will go a long run in inculcating the habit of giving the Tricity citizens.
