In the nasty turn of events, Malaika Arora demands Rs.10 crores from her estranged husband!

Ending a long-term relationship is always hard but sometimes it gets ugly – really ugly. People have a knack of saying and doing nasty things to each other while going through this phase and we guess the same is happening with the Malaika Arora Khan and Arbaaz Khan. Malaika who have supposedly parted ways after her 18-years of marriage with Arbaaz Khan because of the latter's unsuccessful career is taking it to the next level turning the relationship malignant.

The couple jointly filed for divorce a few months back but Malaika filed a request for spousal support and the amount she wants is pretty shocking. According to sources, she feels entitled to a minimum amount of Rs.10 crores from her estranged husband. A source in a daily also shared: "That's quite an amount no doubt, but Rs. 10 crore minimum is what Malaika wants. And she will not settle for anything less." It's hard to say, what prompts this behavior. But this is just an example of the nasty things people going through divorce are capable of.

The news of their court visit to file for a legal separation came as a surprise to the fans as there were reports a few months back of their possible reconciliation when the duo was spotted attending couple counseling session in the Mumbai court to avoid annulment.The rumors had gotten stronger especially after the estranged couple spent Karvachauth together. In fact, the couple was spotted together on several other occasions, trying to iron out their differences. "But nothing worked. All those meetings went down only as table talk," the source reveals.

Salman Khan also tried his best to play the mediator between the warring couple and save their marriage, but all the efforts went in vain.

Arbaaz who in the first place never wanted to file a divorce is still reeling under the shock for the said amount. However, he has agreed to pay the sum over a period of time and has even offered to pay for his son’s upbringing, like any loving and compassionate father would. Arbaaz feels it is the best way to deal, no amount of discussion, debate or arguing will change the mind and attitude of Malaika who is bent on thinking and acting nasty.

Though the sources confirmed that since the time Malaika had pulled the plug on her marriage with Arbaaz, she was living separately and was providing for her 14-year-old son Arhaan's education almost single-handedly.

A source also said, that most likely their son will continue to stay with Malaika after the divorce, which is likely to come about in May and added “But that would again depend on a lot of things, which includes how quickly Arbaaz and Malaika come to a common point as far as terms and conditions of financial settlement are concerned.”

The storm that has been brewing for several years in Malaika and Arbaaz's personal life is about to end. But why do most love stories in Bollywood- including that of Arbaaz-Malaika have ugly endings? Is it true, that it doesn’t always take two to tango – unless you count one to set the pace and one to get dragged along in a savage tailwind.
