The name Neerja came into limelight after we saw Sonam Kapoor starrer Neerja on the silver screens. She sacrificed her life while saving the life of passengers on Pan Am Flight 73 which was hijacked by Terrorists. She was shot in her head while helping the passengers escape. After she died she was felicitated with the Ashoka Chakra Award which is India's highest peacetime war award for bravery.

Milkha Singh

He is termed as the flying Sikh of India. The movie Bhaag Milkha Bhaag portrayed a lot about his life and how his journey was. He dedicated his entire life to sports and made India proud of him. The list of awards he has won and honored justifies his hard work and dedication.

Kapil Dev

Kapil Dev is one of the legendary cricketers of India. Under the captainship of Kapil Dev, the Indian Cricket Team won the ICC Worldcup in 1983 for the first time. Kapil Dev was felicitated with the Arjuna Award in 1980 and Padma Shri in 1982. Post-retirement he joined as the national cricket coach in 1999. Later he became the first Indian foreign coach as well. He also acted in a movie Iqbal which was based on cricket. He joined the army in 2008 as an honorary officer.

Abhinav Bindra

He is the first Indian sportsperson who won an individual gold medal in the Olympics. He was the youngest participant in the 1998 Commonwealth games. He is the CEO of Abhinav Futuristics which supplies Walther arms in India. Yuvraj Singh

He again needs no introduction. The famous Indian Cricketer is from Chandigarh. He was honoured with Arjuna Award in 2012 and was felicitated with Padma Shri in 2014. He too saw some rough patches in life when in 2012 we got to know that he is diagnosed with cancer but his willpower overpowered cancer, and he beat cancer. In 2016, he married Hazel Keech who is a British Mauritian model in Goa.
