Launch Of Skill Development Mission in Chandigarh

The Chandigarh Skill Development Mission, aimed at reforming education policies and providing students with the learning they rightfully deserve, was launched last week on 26th June in a bid to target young school kids so that they turned into the youth who will lead the city to a better tomorrow.

The audience attending the inauguration of the scheme were party to a presentation given by the director of the Chandigarh Skill Development Mission, Rakesh Kumar Popli. Present at the occasion were honorable MP of the city Kirron Kher and other notable dignitaries who were all for this program that aimed at the transformation of children and to provide them with the best form of education.

The Mission particularly targets children belonging to the age group of 14-18 years, since those are the teenage years and that is when the shaping of the mind takes place. MP Kirron Kher fully advocates her support for this movement which will bring about the much needed guiding support these children need to evolve into the responsible youth that the country deserves.

Administrator to the Director of the Mission Development Scheme, Parimal Rai was under the belief that colleges, schools, and training institutes have the best infrastructure in the place and must continue to do so. This is why efforts are underway by members of this scheme to ensure that this trend of maintaining the infrastructure in educational is not only maintained but goes up the ante.

Among other dignitaries attending the event for Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship of the Government of India, Parimal Rai, advisor to the Administrator, Anurag Agarwal, Home Secretary of Technical Education who expressed his delight and all out satisfaction at this step, and lastly, VP Singh Badnore, the administrator of Chandigarh. The logo was released by all of the above dignitaries who are working to their fullest to ensure that not just the schools, not just the children, but all of Chandigarh is able to achieve a brighter tomorrow.

Ajit Balaji Joshi, who is the Deputy Commissioner of the UT, along with the official of NSDC and MSDE were also party to this event which is full of hope and promise. With a target set for 3 years and a reported budget of Rs. 15.84 crores sponsored by the MSDE, the plan proves to be a challenge since it holds many hurdles that will come along the way.

The presentation given by the director emphasized on the improvement of the ITI's as well as the educational centres prevalent in the region. Having the belief that since the facilities all around Chandigarh have the best infrastructure, which can, in turn, be used for honing and Skilling, MP Kirron Kher spoke about Skill Development Projects under the Ministry Of Skill Development, Chandigarh, which would require a requisite amount of funds and land.

The Governor of the state emphasized on the necessity of the project meeting its demands since it ensures a sure shot guidance when it comes to their career. Talks of the Chandigarh Administration and MSDE working together to provide the children of the city the right direction took place, with promises of top class facilities for the Skilling of the Youth of Chandigarh being given the top most priority. In lieu of the recent years, Chandigarh has been seen as a potential state which if set on the right track will be able to be among the most educated states in the country. After the failure of the countless Yojanas launched by the previous governments, this state based approach is full of promise and the people of this city can only hope its success.

These changes will pave the way for a new skilling ecosystem, with closer coordination across the public and private sectors.
