All Geared up for Kalagram Craft Mela 2019? From stalls displaying a variety of handicrafts, handloom and cultural fabrics to famous artists performing live in the evening, all is set for the 11th edition of Chandigarh National Crafts Mela 2019.
Every year, Kalagram holds one of the biggest craft fairs for all the art lovers to encourage managed business for skilled workers and to give true painstaking work at the most sensible cost to the shopper. And, this year 200 stalls have been constructed at the site to display the spectacular work of artisans and craftsmen of Chandigarh and other states. Visit Kalagram & witness handicrafts and foods from Rajasthan and Gujarat to Bihar and Odisha.
Theme WE!
The theme this year is West to East (WE) featuring handicrafts and foods from Rajasthan and Gujarat to Bihar and Odhisa. It offers a richness of the handicrafts, handloom and our cultural heritage that makes this event unique. Products will vary from clothes to jewelry and footwear to carpets, furniture, and home decor.
Keeping the theme, all the gates are decked up and statues have been installed throughout the Kalagram which are showcasing tribal culture from various states across the country. These statues and gates have been jointly prepared by 25 artisans of Bengal.

Artists Performing Live
The annual event provides a rare opportunity for artists to display their creative work and potential to a cross-section of people. Thus, special performances by celebrities from the Punjabi music industry like Gurdas Mann, Daler Mehndi, Kailash Kher, Jasbir Jassi, Roop Kumar Rathod and Sonali Rathore, Manmohan Waris, Jassi Gill, Bubble Rai, Mahila Band, Kamal Heer, and Kanwar Garewal etc will leave the audience mesmerized as the Kalagram Crafts Mela 2019 has a lot to offer to the residents.
For The Love Of Food
Apart from swings and crafts, the crafts Mela 2019 will be having stalls that would satiate your hunger after shopping. From Rajasthani Thali, Dal Bati Churma, Bikaner and Jodhpur Chaats and Sweets, Haryana's Gohana Ka Jaleb, to Hyderabadi Biryani, Punjabi Makki Roti, Chinese Food, and Ice Creams, they have it all.
Exhibitions
The crafts mela will have various exhibitions, from a corner for live painting where more than 10 artists will be participating from all over the country to an exhibition dedicated to Rajasthani artists. An exhibition called Rhythmic Past will also be organized, where Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi will display Rhythmic Past installation.
Cultural Performances
Also, artists from 17 states will paint the colors of India's art in the fair with 41 kinds of folk dances. These artists will perform from morning to evening. Folk dances depicting the culture of different states of the country will be presented at the Crafts Mela. Bhangra and Jindua in Punjab, Dhol Cholom and Thangata in Manipur, Dhamali and Dogri in Jammu and Kashmir, Phag and Bean Jogi in Haryana, Kalbelia and Bahrupia in Rajasthan, Bihu in Assam, Dholu Kunita in Karnataka, Lavani and Koli in Maharashtra will be the main attraction.
