What is Vegan?
According to the Vegan Society, “Veganism is a way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose.” This means, as you guessed it, vegans reduce to the best of their abilities the use of animal products like dairy, meat, eggs, honey, wool, fur, leather, silk, etc.
Why Vegan?
There are a number of different reasons to try vegan - including tackling climate change, improving one’s health and reducing animal suffering. Others like to set themselves a challenge, and many combine Veganuary with their ‘New Year’s Resolutions’ and see trying vegan as the healthiest start to the year.
What is Vegan January?
Veganuary (UK) and Earthr.org (India), two nonprofit organizations from across the world, have joined hands to inspire and support the people of India to try vegan food in January and beyond. They would provide information and practical support required to overcome challenges and make a smooth transition to veganism.
