What is Quilling?
Quilling word is derived from quills (feathers of birds) earlier used as a quilling tool to roll the paper. Quilling or paper filigree is an art form that involves the use of paper strips and glue to create different designs.
The earliest mention has been traced back to the 15th century when it was known as filigree. It was used to decorate book covers and religious objects as a more budget-friendly alternative to expensive decorative materials. Today, quilling is seeing a resurgence in popularity. It is sometimes used for decorating wedding invitations, for Christmas, birth announcements, greeting cards, scrapbook pages, and boxes.
