Shaam-e-Rekhta : An Evening Of Poetry At Chaayos

About the event

Rekhta Foundation and Chaayos are coming together to hold a specially curated evening of poetry recitals, interesting anecdotes around poets and poetry, readings of the works of some great poets and much more. The evening in Chandigarh will not only bring the audience closer to Urdu but will also build an appreciation for the language, amongst the youth and the uninitiated by making them experience it firsthand. Urdu touches the heart and mind of anyone who comes in contact with it. Urdu is not merely a language but an entire culture unto itself. Sophisticated, sweet, sibilant, evocative, lyrical and timeless. ‘Shaam-e-Rekhta’ is a step further to mark Urdu’s phenomenal outreach as the language finds its resonance across the length and breadth of the country.
